Added a New Tech Site

Are you the type that really gets into messing around with your system's Registry settings? Do you run Windows NT or Windows 2000 and just have that desire to "tweak" things just a little? If this is you, then get yourself over to Windows NT - Windows 2000 Tips, Tricks and Registry Hacks. JSI, INC. and see what they have listed there. Lots and lots and LOTS of tips on things you can fix, modify, alter or mutilate, all by changing little numbers and letters in your Registry. (Isn't it amazing...?)

Updated My Resume

Back in March of 2000 I was offered and accepted a position with ELPAS North America. This new job has unfortunately caused a number of changes in my life, not the least of which is considerably less time to work on the site. For what it's worth I have updated my online resume to include my new job. View my resume HERE.

"Framed" links

Several of the links pages on this site now use a special "framed" link method. The link followed will appear in a frame window with four buttons at the bottom of the page. These buttons allow returning to the GreyFace site, submitting a link as "dead", removal of the frame, and visiting the homepage of the author of the script. To see how this works, click HERE to open our CGI Scripts site in a "framed" link.

Shields UP!

With the growing popularity of Cable Modems and DSL connections, the probability that your computer is prone to attack is increasing dramatically. But how do you know if you are vulnerable? Even more important ... how do you get protected? GreyFace takes great pride in introducing you to one of the true geniuses of the Internet. Steve Gibson is a wunderkind with a heart of gold. His site, Gibson Research Corporation has a tool that can answer both of these questions and then some. Called "Shields Up!" Steve's free utility will automatically and benignly probe your computer for the most common access points. Then he will show you exactly how to close the portals and rig your computer for safe running. If you are even more concerned, Steve also includes information and reviews of several "Personal Firewalls" ... programs that can make your computer invisible to the outside world. So don't delay, click your way over to Gibson Research Corporation at http://grc.com/ today and get ready to holler ... Shields UP!

PC Review & Tech Support Sites

GreyFace keeps a close eye on the Internet, constantly looking for the latest in information and resources to help make your life easier and safer. If you are planning a major purchase or upgrade in the near future, or if you need some detailed information on a specific piece of equipment then it would be nice to hear what others have experienced. A rather interesting concept is the "User Review" site. This type of site allows visitors to register and then submit a review of either a piece of equipment or an online vendor. We've collected some of the largest and best on our TECH SITES page. You will also find several other general tech support and technical info sites listed here as well. Don't miss it. Click HERE to visit the new "PC Tech Support Sites - Upgrades, Reviews, Support" page.

Webmaster Links

We've been collecting a rather eclectic list of links and resources that have helped us improve our webmaster and website design skills. In order to make this list, it either has to be really obscure and found no where else, or really valuable and a "must have" for any webmaster. Take a look at our new Webmaster Links page. You may just find the one thing you really need.
